Maria Theresia Roerig Corsini is the main contact person for our international and, in particular, our German clients or our clients who are active in German-speaking countries, thanks to her international background, her legal training in Germany and her qualification to practice in both Italian and German jurisdictions. Her qualifications and professional record have enabled her to cooperate, since 2008, with the Studies Department of the Italian Constitutional Court as Consultant and Expert in German and Comparative Law (including Austrian and Swiss law).

After gaining professional experience in Germany, her native country, Avv. Roerig has practiced in Italy since 2001, working upon private and corporate law matters (ranging from issues related to daily business to extraordinary corporate transactions, with both national and cross-border dimensions), national and international trade issues and related contracts, matters of labour law, intellectual property, private international law and EU Law.

She is also skilled in national and international arbitration and international litigation. Thanks to her specialization in international arbitration (both as counsel and arbitrator), she has advised several clients in arbitrations administered by the major international institutions (especially, the ICC) and national arbitral institutions (such as the Milan Chamber of Arbitration and German institutions), in ad hoc arbitrations and, generally, in litigation with an international dimension. Avv. Roerig has also been nominated and has acted as (sole) arbitrator in international arbitration proceedings administered by important international institutions.

Before joining the team of BDC Studio Legale, Avv. Maria Theresia Rörig worked with Chiomenti Studio Legale from 2001 to 2009 (including with Prof. Avv. Andrea Giardina and the Corporate law practice). Previously, she worked in Germany, with Linklaters, Oppenhoff & Radler in Köln (dealing with Industrial and Intellectual Property, Trademarks and Unfair Competition), after experiences with universities and public institutions (Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Düsseldorf Institute for Mass-Media, European Commission) and with several companies in England (Tchibo Coffee International Ltd.), in France (JSF) and Italy (Illy Caffè, Paccorini S.p.A. and Sandaly Trading International).

Avv. Roerig graduated from Friedrich-Wilhelm University of Bonn, Germany, and passed the First State Exam in 1994; following completion of her legal traineeship, she passed the Second State Exam in 1997 in Köln, Germany, where she was admitted to the Bar. She was admitted to the Bar of Rome, Italy, in 2001.

She is registered in the lawyers' list of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Italy (Rome).
